On my mind…

Lately I’ve had retirement on the brain. Maybe it’s because my 35th birthday is next month. Maybe it’s because I found a stray grey hair the other day. Maybe it’s because my knees have started to make weird noises when I get up in the morning (apparently snap-crackle-pop is not just for Rice Crispies).

Am I getting old? Noooooo! *insert denial*

The good news is, you get to benefit from my new-found awareness about my age. How? I’ll be blogging about retirement and sharing all kinds of great resources with you.

For example:

I finally hired a financial advisor and will a share my experiences with James (my advisor), in upcoming posts. I also will be participating in a twitter chat about saving for retirement!

The chat will take place on Tuesday September 23 from 7-8pm EST. We’ll talk about setting long-term goals, figuring out how much you need to save for retirement, keeping your savings on track, and choosing the right accounts and investments.

Not only will I be sharing my experiences in the world of retirement planning, but I’ll be joined by two retirement experts from Vanguard. They will lead the discussion and answer your questions. Whoo Hooo! If you’re anything like me, you have a ton of questions about how to plan for retirement.

Vanguard is one of the world’s largest investment companies. I’m excited to learn from their experts because I know how passionate they are about educating investors about the importance of saving for long-term goals like retirement.

How to get started now:

It’s easy….

  • Join us on twitter on Tuesday the 23th and follow the conversation using #VGRetirement . You’ll even get a chance to win a complementary session with a financial planner and receive some Vanguard gear to showcase your investing style.

  1. Yes! NOW is the time to start planning for retirement. If not now, when? Will you wait until its too late or too little time to save? You don’t want to fall into one of those scary pitfalls of retirement. By the way, unfortunately we missed the conversation / twitter chat that you and Vanguard held last 23rd of November. I’m wondering if there is another schedule, coz we’d love to join the conversation too. Thanks!
